August 16, 2010 – Raleigh, NC – Exactly LLC has launched its beta release of GownShopper at http://www.gownshopper.com. GownShopper is a service that makes connections between shopping brides and traditional brick-and-mortar bridal stores.
The service works as follows: brides submit quote requests for a gown, the request is emailed to an approved network of bridal stores that carry the requested brand, and the bridal stores respond with quotes. Should the bride decide to act on a quote, she submits a deposit via GownShopper and then completes the transaction directly with the bridal store.
GownShopper is 100% free to participating retailers; all revenue comes from a finder’s fee charged to the bride. In addition, GownShopper offers bridal stores the following benefits:
- GownShopper gives stores a national reach. GownShopper advertises its service to brides nationally, and distributes its quote requests based on whether a store carries the brand, not based on the store’s geography.
- GownShopper preserves a store’s local advantage. Every quote request shows the bride’s location, and every quote shows the store’s location. Stores that are local to the bride are given a leg-up in that, all things equal, brides prefer to make major purchases locally.
- GownShopper puts the bride directly in touch with the retailer to finalize the transaction. This opens the door for the retailer to cross-sell into accessories, bridesmaids gowns, etc., without any involvement by a third party. GownShopper will remain in fully operational beta until its official launch at the National Bridal Market on October 2, 2010.
